When I tell you that Wes and Jerome went through the wringer when planning their wedding, I’m not kidding. These movie lovers planned on originally tying the knot on April 25th, 2020 (the “perfect date” according to Miss Congeniality!) at a local movie theater when the pandemic threw a major wrench in those plans. Next, they decided to push it to October of 2020, thinking we’d all be in the clear by then. When that didn’t happen, not only did we need to push it out an ENTIRE year to October of 2021, their original venue had unfortunately closed its doors and was no longer available.
But through it all, they kept smiles on their faces and were just the most incredibly lovely people to work with.
To make it extra fun, Wes and Jerome decided to make their wedding a costume party, since it was Halloween weekend – and their guests absolutely did not disappoint! I can’t begin to tell you how fun it was to watch all their guests walk in, fully dressed in amazing costumes and ready to have the best night! This group was an absolute blast, and I don’t think I stopped smiling all night long.
The crew all got ready together and headed out for some formal photos prior to the wedding. The grooms and wedding party all wore traditional gear for the ceremony (though they all had on VERY snazzy shoes!) and then changed during the cocktail hour into their reception outfits. The bridesmaids all had costumes and Jerome and Wes ordered some really unique suit jackets, which were absolutely perfect for them! Also, instead of a wedding cake, they cut a GIANT donut and served donuts for dessert. It was a huge hit!
The table assignments at the reception were all based on different movies. Each centerpiece was put together with such great detail by the grooms and contained different pieces symbolizing the movie. There were dinosaur toys at the Jurassic Park table, Buzz and Woody at the Toy Story table, and more. Honestly, this was one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been part of. Wes and Jerome truly became family throughout the wedding planning process and it was such an honor to be part of their love story.
Cheers to many more incredible years together, Wes and Jerome! Love you both so much!
