I absolutely LOVED being part of Keshia and Chris’s big day. These two are such a great couple and I am so grateful I’ve gotten to get to know them and experience their incredible relationship over the past year. My favorite part of K+C’s wedding day was that it was absolutely and completely their own style. They didn’t stress about what you’re “supposed to do” for your wedding. They simply did exactly what they wanted to do and it was EVERYTHING. <3
Of course, the day started with hair, makeup, and getting all glammed up! Can we just take a moment to note how absolutely GORGEOUS Keshia is? I knew she would make a stunning bride, but DANG. Her hair, her dress, her veil….absolutely beautiful!
I know wedding days are always “all about the bride” but Chris looked SO handsome! I loved seeing him all dressed up – and his tux was perfect for him! I was so excited for Keshia to get to see him at the first look!
Speaking of their first look, they chose to have their special moment in their ceremony space, Jarvis Hall. This is one of the gorgeous rooms in Kansas City’s famous Union Station and it really is breathtaking.
I loved the personal details these two brought into their big day. Like I mentioned earlier, they made their wedding unapologetically and completely THEIRS and I was totally there for it. Skeleton centerpieces? Check. Coffin ring box? Check. One thousand percent perfect for K+C? Check check.
The ceremony was beautiful – a close friend of the couple officiated, making it even more special (and he was incredible – I told him he needed to start officiating weddings STAT). By the way – see that amazing bridal bouquet? Yeah, Keshia made it herself. Totally gorgeous! Their wedding also featured the world’s most adorable flower girl, who managed to get over her fears and make it down the aisle with a little help from her mom.
The new Mr. and Mrs. rented the coolest car ever for the day – a vintage Rolls Royce! If I’m being honest, I was a little jealous of their ride. But who wouldn’t be?
The reception was at Drexel Hall and featured delicious food, super tasty cake, and lots of great music and dancing. Chris works in the radio and music festival industry and oh my goodness, does he know some incredibly talented people. I was so excited about the band they had playing for the reception, Not A Planet. As a huge live music person, I honestly could have listened to them play all night. Not only were they insanely good, but they were so easy to work with! We all had SO. MUCH. FUN.
Thank you so much, Keshia and Chris, for allowing me to be part of your most important day! I’m so glad I’ve gotten the chance to be part of your story. Here’s to many years of happiness and adventure!
